ಹೋಮ್ ಗಾರ್ಡ್ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಎಂಬುದು ನಿಸ್ವಾರ್ಥ ಸೇವೆಯ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ. ಸಮಾಜದ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ, ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆಗಾಗಿ ದುಡಿಯುವ ವರ್ಗ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ವೇತನ ಎಂಬುದು ಕೇವಲ ಗೌರವ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇವೆಯೇ ಪ್ರಧಾನ. ಯಾವುದೇ ತುರ್ತು ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಜದ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಗಾಗಿ ನಿಸ್ವಾರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ದುಡಿಯುವ, ದೇಶದ Bíತರಿಕ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆಗಾಗಿ ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡುವ ರಾಯಭಾರಿಗಳೂ ಹೌದು. ಇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವರು ಅಸಾಧಾರಣ ಸಾಧನೆ -ಸಾಹಸ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅಂತಹ ಸಾಧಕರಿಗೆ ನೀಡುವ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರವೇ ವಿಕ ಹೋಮ್ ಗಾರ್ಡ್.
Home Guards are those who render selfless service to the society and are always there for the safety and security of the society. What these Home Guards earn is more respect from the society. Here service is the main motto. In a way these Home Guards are ambassadors of selfless service. There are many Home Guards among us who have made invaluable contributions. ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛತೆ ಕುರಿತು ಎಷ್ಟೇ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸಿದರೂ, ಅದು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ತ್ಯಾಜ್ಯ, ಕಸಗಳು ಎಲ್ಲೆಂದರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಸ್ವಚ್ಛ ನಗರದ ಪರಿಕಲ್ಪನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮನೆಯಿಂದಲೇ ತ್ಯಾಜ್ಯ ಸಂಗ್ರಹ ಆರಂಭಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದರೂ, ಕೆಲವರು ಇಂದಿಗೂ ನಿರ್ಜನ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತ್ಯಾಜ್ಯ ಎಸೆದು ತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ವಚ್ಛವಾಗಿಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಮನೆ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ, ಸಮಾಜ, ನಗರ, ಊರು, ತಾಲೂಕು, ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ, ರಾಜ್ಯ, ದೇಶ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛವಾಗಿರಬೇಕು. ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಕ್ಲೀನ್ ಸಿಟಿ ವಾರಿಯರ್ ಆಗಬೇಕು ಎಂಬ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಕ್ಲೀನ್ ಸಿಟಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಸಾಧಕರನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುವುದೇ ವಿಕ ಕ್ಲೀನ್ ಸಿಟಿ ವಾರಿಯರ್ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರ.
A Clean City is a pleasure to the eyes of the citizens. But our cities have not been able to remain spotlessly clean despite immense efforts and awareness. The need of the hour is for us to ensure that not only our homes, but also our surroundings, our villages and cities are clean. There are many who are striving to keep their cities, towns and villages clean. It is a humble attempt to honour such achievers through VK Clean City Warrior Award.
ಆಟೋ ಚಾಲಕ ನಗರ – ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಭಾಗದ ಜನರ ಸಾರಥಿ. ಆಟೋ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಬದುಕು ಊಹಿಸಲೂ ಅಸಾಧ್ಯ. ಹಲವು ಆಟೋ ಚಾಲಕರು ಕರ್ತವ್ಯವೇ ದೇವರ ಸೇವೆ ಎಂದು ನಂಬಿ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆಟೋದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋದ ಸೊತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರಿಗೆ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿಸುವುದರೊíದಿಗೆ ಕೆಲವರು ನಿರ್ಧಿಷ್ಟ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಚಿತ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುವ ಬ¨Üœತೆಯನ್ನೂ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ರಸ್ತೆ ಅಪಘಾತ ಸಂದರ್ಭ, ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯರಿಗೆ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆ ದಾಖಲು, ಚುನಾವಣೆ ಸಂದರ್ಭ ಹೀಗೆ ಹಲವು ಸಂದರ್ಭಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಉಚಿತ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುವ ಬದ್ಧತೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅಂತಹ ನಿಜವಾದ ಸಮಾಜ ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಆಟೋ ಚಾಲಕರನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುವ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರವೇ ವಿಕ ಆಟೋ ಸಾರಥಿ.
Autorickshaw drivers play a crucial role both in rural and urban areas in ferrying passengers. We cannot think of our lives without autorickshaws and autorickshaw drivers are our true friends in times of need.
We have many examples of exemplary autorickshaw drivers who have shown great qualities of honesty and service to mankind even in toughest of times.

Drivers of buses ought to have a great sense of responsibility and must keep the safety of the passengers uppermost in their minds. There have been several instances of bus drivers showing great presence of minds in the most difficult times, thus helping in saving lives. VK Bus Sarathi is a sincere attempt to recognise and honour such outstanding drivers.

Just like Doctors, Health Workers also play a crucial role in saving many a life. Health workers play a very significant role in rural areas, especially remote places and strive to reach out health care facilities.

During times of health emergencies, there have been some occasions when Good Samaritans have played a key role in lending a helping hand by risking their own lives.

Our scriptures mention of Matra Devobhava, Pitra Devobhava, Acharya Devobhava which means – Be the one who respects Mother, Father and Teacher on par with God. Ours is the culture which accords the highest respect to teachers. Even our teachers have maintained high standards of excellence in teaching. They have the onerous responsibility of moulding the future of their students. We have many teachers amongst us who work for the welfare of the society while also discharging their duties as a teacher with utmost sincerity. An Award that recognizes and honours such teachers is VK Teacher.

ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳು ನಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬದುಕು ಸಾಗಿಸುವ ಜೀವಿಗಳು. ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳ ಜೀವಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪಾಯವಾದಾಗ, ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಗಾಯವಾದಾಗ ಪ್ರಾಣಿ ಪ್ರಿಯರು ಅವುಗಳ ಆರೈಕೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಕಾಡುಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳಾದರೆ ಆರೈಕೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಮತ್ತೆ ಕಾಡಿಗೆ ಬಿಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಬೀಡಾಡಿ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳಾದರೆ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಾಕುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅವುಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಕೆಲವರು ನಿತ್ಯವೂ ಆಹಾರ ಒದಗಿಸಿ, ಆರೈಕೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಪ್ರೀತಿ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ಸ್ವಾರ್ಥ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಲಾಭ, ಹಣದ ಮೋಹ, ಅಧಿಕಾರದ ಲಾಲಸೆ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳ ಮೇಲಿನ ಮಮತೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ. ಆ ಮಮತೆಯು ಅವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾಣಿ ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಹೀಗೆ ಮೂಕ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳ ಆರೈಕೆ ಮಾಡುವವರಿಗೆ ನೀಡುವ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರವೇ ವಿಕ ಪ್ರಾಣಿ ಪ್ರಿಯ
Pet animals are man’s best friends. They bring joy to our lives. Caring for animals, particularly orphan and stray animals is a great service.
